Osama bin Laden is the leader of the Islamic terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. He was recognized as terrorist No. 1 in the United States and other countries. According to the CIA, he was killed on May 2, 2011 in Pakistan.

Pictured are several local residents, including Christina and Lars Akelblad, who owned the Astoria Hotel, where Osama and his brother Salem stayed during one of their trips to Sweden. Bin Laden was later implicated in a series of terrorist attacks, including the 1993 World Trade Center bombing in New York, the 1995 car bombing in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia in 1996, in which 19 American soldiers were killed and in the 1998 attacks on the American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.
