The average scholarship in 2016 is 1,340 rubles. This amount is so insignificant that many universities pay extra for students.

Don't sleep, student!

The management of the Vladimir State University pays students 1,561 rubles a month, while the "good" students receive 390 rubles, and the excellent students - 781 rubles more. Students of the Siberian University who pass sessions without triples and actively participate in scientific and social work can receive a significant addition to the basic payment (up to 10,000 rubles).

The size of scholarships has always been low, so it is not surprising that many girls and boys have to work, even in full-time studies. It is impossible to live on a couple of thousand rubles a month. And even if the planned increase in the scholarship in 2016 takes place in Russia, this is unlikely to radically change the situation.

A little more graduate students (2637 rubles) of all specializations, except for technical and natural sciences, receive. Their income is 6330 rubles.

Personalized awards

The usual scholarship at the Moscow Energy Institute is one and a half thousand rubles. It is credited to all freshmen before the first session. According to the rector Nikolai Rogalev, many students receive government or presidential aid, and the most successful have the opportunity to pocket up to 40 thousand a month.

Payments from the president and the government are awarded to those who receive specialties of priority for the country's economic development and demonstrate outstanding success (presidential scholarship 2016)

In many Russian universities, nominal fees are paid. To the traditional list - Solzhenitsyn, Okudzhava, Likhachev, Sobchak, Gaidar, Voznesensky - one more will be added this year. A dozen of the best future economists at Moscow State University and a dozen from MGIMO will receive a Primakov scholarship. Its size is 5 thousand rubles.

Social support

Beneficial categories of citizens have the right to receive a social scholarship, which is added to the academic one:

  • orphans;
  • persons under 23 years of age in the absence of trustees;
  • people with disabilities (groups 1 and 2);
  • victims of radiation disasters;
  • disabled people and participants in hostilities in hot spots;
  • children from low-income families.

Orphans receive additional funds for the purchase of textbooks and stationery in the amount of three scholarships.

The educational institution independently determines the size of the social stipend, but it cannot be less than the academic one for the university.

In special situations, a lump sum is issued. Its size varies from 4 to 10 thousand rubles. Universities help:

  • seriously ill students and their children;
  • students from single-parent families;
  • female students in position;
  • newlyweds.

Travel card and porridge

In the Moscow region, students who make more than 36 trips a month pay only one ruble for each. At the North-Eastern University of Yakutsk, nonresident students are given free passes for 48 monthly trips, and those in dire need are given 3 thousand on social cards every semester. Barnaul students received a 20% discount on travel.

Events are regularly held at MEI. One of them - "Porridge from the rector" - allows you to have breakfast with delicious porridge for free. Other universities provide free salads and tea to students.

Work on bugs

Since the beginning of the year, four universities have already received reprimands from the Minister of Education Dmitry Livanov for neglect of scholarship payments. The “black list” of those who could not submit documents for grants and scholarships on time included:

  • State Pedagogical University (Blagoveshchensk, Amur Region);
  • Technological State Academy (Kovrov, Vladimir Region);
  • State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Samara);
  • State University (Saratov).

The management of the universities took urgent measures to rectify the situation, so serious delays in the payment of scholarships were avoided.

The scholarship is financial assistance that is paid to students of universities, technical schools, colleges, secondary specialized educational institutions, other educational institutions, as well as graduate students and those who are studying in doctoral studies. Often the scholarship is the only source of survival while studying. What is the size of the student scholarship in 2019?

Before entering an educational institution, a prospective student should be familiar with the fact that the scholarship is paid only in state universities, technical schools, etc. Private educational institutions are deprived of state support, therefore students also do not receive financial assistance.

What kind of scholarships are there? Educational institutions in Russia pay their students the following types of financial assistance:

  • Academic. It is received by full-time students who are on a budgetary form of study and who do not have academic debt. Such students should only study for "Good" or "Excellent". However, this indicator may not be final, since different universities may have their own criteria.
  • Advanced academic. It is credited to students from the 2nd year, provided that in the 1st year they distinguished themselves with high results in studies or sports. Participation in the cultural life of the institution is also encouraged.
  • Social. It is paid to students who need financial assistance from the state. The fact of its payment does not depend on the student's academic performance. It is provided only on the basis of the necessary documents, according to which material assistance is paid. But this help can be not only monetary, but, for example, in the form of payment for living in a hostel.
  • Named government and presidential. It is paid to students of faculties of priority areas who have high academic achievements.

In total, there are 15 types of scholarships on the territory of Russia.

Academic scholarship

What does the scholarship depend on and how is it paid? The academic scholarship is automatically awarded to all applicants. They will receive the same amount for the first semester. It is paid out to a card or in cash at the same time.

The academic scholarship stops being paid one month after the student's expulsion order is issued. The graduate student receives his first scholarship in the month of his enrollment in an educational institution. Payments in the future change depending on the assessments of knowledge.

How to get an increased scholarship? Only students who:

  • Competitive selection passed;
  • Included in the top 10% for each semester.

Social scholarship

In 2019, a social stipend is paid in the amount of 720 rubles. for institutions of secondary vocational education and 2010 rubles. for bachelors and graduate students. How to get a social scholarship? You can count on such payments:

  • Disabled people of groups I and II, as well as people with disabilities;
  • Orphans, as well as children left without parental care;
  • War veterans;
  • Students whose family income does not exceed the subsistence level at the place of residence.

How to get a social scholarship? To do this, you need to contact the dean's office with the necessary documents confirming the right to receive it.

The social stipend is not paid if the student has unsatisfactory grades based on the results of the session. If academic performance improves, payments are restored. Along with this type of scholarship, an academic scholarship can be paid on a general basis.

Accrual and payment of presidential and government scholarships

Almost all students who have made their choice in favor of priority areas for the country's economy can count on presidential scholarships. As for graduate students, the number of scholarships for them is limited to 300. They are appointed annually for a period of 1 to 3 years.

Who receives these scholarships? Students who have achieved high academic performance can count on presidential surcharges. Students who:

  • Study in the full-time department;
  • In the course of two semesters, subjects passed with excellent marks;
  • They conduct an active scientific activity, which is confirmed by diplomas and certificates;
  • Participate in innovative developments.

A distinguished student receiving a presidential scholarship can apply for an internship in Germany, Sweden and Germany.

Students of higher and secondary educational institutions of the full-time department can count on receiving government scholarships on a budgetary basis, which are nominated by the pedagogical council of the institution. For a secondary educational institution it should be a 2nd year student, for a university - 3 courses. Restrictions for graduate students - from the second year.

When is the government scholarship awarded? Its payment is made in accordance with the following requirements for applicants:

  • High level academic performance;
  • Publication in a scientific journal;
  • Victory or participation in an all-Russian or international competition, festival or conference;
  • Participation in international exhibitions, grants;
  • Scientific discovery backed by a patent.

Sizes of scholarships

Russian legislation sets a lower level for the payment of scholarships, allowing educational institutions to pay a higher amount, depending on financial capabilities. The scholarship fund of any educational institution is approved with the participation of representatives of students or the student union.

In 2018, the scholarship was increased for students by 5.9%, which is 1,419 rubles. in the universities of the country. The scholarship in the technical school in 2018 is 487 rubles. For 2019, this increase is planned by 4.8%, which will amount to 1,487 rubles. Obviously, the minimum scholarship in Russia does not cover the minimum requirements of student life, so the desire to receive an increased scholarship is obvious. A student who passes the session without "triples" has the opportunity to receive a scholarship of about 6,000 rubles.

A session passed with "excellent" can be a stepping stone to receiving an even greater amount. The average increased scholarship in Russia last year was 7,000 rubles. The most successful students can receive a scholarship of up to 20,000 rubles.

The minimum amount of state scholarships for graduate and doctoral students is from 2637 rubles. Scholarships for scientific and pedagogical personnel in postgraduate studies in the specialties of technical and natural sciences - from 6330 rubles, residency - from 6717 rubles. Doctoral students receive from 10,000 rubles.

An increased scholarship for a graduate student can vary from 11 to 14 thousand rubles. To date, the State Duma is considering a bill, according to which it is planned to increase the scholarship to the minimum wage.

Additional benefits

A student or graduate student during the period of his studies can apply for additional payments related to one or another event in life:

  1. For the birth of a child. For this, a statement from the student is written to the name of the head of the institution. With the approval of the student union, the payment is made.
  2. For the purchase of textbooks. The payment is made for graduate students annually in the amount of two scholarships. An orphan student can receive the same allowance, but in the amount of three scholarships.
  3. For successful training in full-time education at the expense of budgetary funds.
  4. Personalized scholarships in honor of talented people. Paid as support for talented and successful students of children, for achievements in the field of sports, science, technology, creativity. These scholarships vary in size.
  5. Medical leave.

Nothing prevents students from receiving multiple payments at the same time. So, some talented guys can receive monthly payments comparable to the average salary in the country. However, it must be remembered that the number of additional scholarships is very limited, so only the best can get them.

In the technical school and in the college, two types of scholarships are paid:

  • Social. Its size is 730 rubles. It is paid to all students who passed the session without "tails". In addition, this category includes all poorly protected categories (orphans, disabled people, students from large or handicapped families, etc.);
  • Academic. The amount of this scholarship is 487 rubles. It is paid to students on a budgetary basis who take the session without triples.

There are no restrictions on the maximum size. However, in fact, most educational institutions prefer to pay the minimum amounts set by the state. In some technical schools, scholarships may be increased due to regional allowances and sponsorship.

Cancellation of scholarships

For undergraduate and graduate students, the scholarship is not established for the entire period of study, but is revised every semester. The reasons for the withdrawal of the scholarship may be:

  • Systematic absenteeism;
  • Academic debt at the end of the academic semester;
  • According to the results of the semester, there are grades below “good”.

The transition to part-time studies, as well as academic leave are also reasons for depriving a student of a scholarship.

Is the scholarship paid in summer? The payment of scholarships during the summer months is no different from other periods. They take place as scheduled, and their size depends solely on the student's progress.

The only important point to know about the scholarship in the summer is that for June the scholarship is paid in the amount established by the results of the first semester session. This is due to the fact that in June only the second session takes place, according to the results of which a scholarship for July and August will be awarded.

The Master's Scholarship is no longer being paid to those students who complete their studies. The last scholarship is received for the month of June, since studies will stop until the first of July.

For the graduates of Russian schools, one of the most difficult periods of their lives is nearing completion. Most of the recent schoolchildren have successfully passed the Unified State Exam, received the results and applied to the universities of the Russian Federation for specialties with which they dream of connecting their lives. While awaiting the announcement of the verdict and preparing for additional tests that are required for admission to budget places of the most popular educational institutions in the country, it's time to ask what the scholarship will be in the 2017-2018 academic year. After all, what is a student scholarship? Often the questions of actual survival and the need to look for part-time jobs depend on it. Consequently, the amount of the scholarship directly affects the quality of education and the standard of living.

In this article, you will learn:

Before proceeding with a detailed analysis, it is worth clarifying what the scholarship is.

A scholarship is a financial assistance established at a certain level, which is provided to students of universities, secondary specialized educational institutions, technical schools, colleges and a number of other educational institutions, as well as cadets, graduate students and doctoral students.

The size of the scholarship, in most cases, is set by the educational institution itself, and therefore may differ significantly in different universities of the Russian Federation. Also, when choosing a place of study, it is worth knowing that the state scholarship, which will be discussed in this article, is paid exclusively to students of state educational institutions. Students of private universities, as well as those who have entered the contact form of education, are deprived of financial support from the state.

So, the average student of a state higher educational institution of Russia, studying on a budget, can count on the following types of scholarships:

  1. Academic- provided to full-time students studying at the expense of the budget and not having academic debt. In other words, this type of payment can be counted on by those who have only "good" and "excellent" on the record. Although this is not yet the final indicator and the score for a scholarship may be different in different universities, as well as additional criteria.
  2. Increased academic scholarships for students are awarded from the 2nd year, which means that those who entered the university in 2017-2018, in order to increase the amount of payments, must achieve certain high results in education or sports during the first year of study, as well as take a direct part in cultural life of the educational institution.
  3. Social- paid to students in need of financial support from the state. Its size does not depend on success in training and is calculated on the basis of the documents provided, confirming the corresponding right of the citizen to state aid. It can be provided not only in cash, but also, for example, to pay for a hostel. The list of documents for its registration can be specified in the dean's office.
  4. Increased social is intended for socially unprotected students during the period of study in 1 and 2 courses. Like the usual social one, such a scholarship does not depend on grades and is awarded under a single condition - the absence of academic debt.
  5. Personalized government and presidential scholarships- payments that students of the faculties of priority areas who demonstrate high academic achievements can count on.

Amount of scholarships in the 2017-2018 academic year

As mentioned earlier, the amount of financial payments to students of different universities in Russia may differ due to the fact that the law provides educational institutions with the opportunity to independently set the size of scholarships, regulating only the lowest level of payments. All universities enjoy these rights, establishing scholarships for students in accordance with financial capabilities.

According to the amendments to the Federal Law "On Education in the Russian Federation", three stages of increasing scholarships are planned:

1 in 20175,9 % 1419 RUB
2 in 20184,8 % RUB 1487
3 in 20194,5 % 1554 RUB

Obviously, for a normal life, it will not be enough for a student to simply do well and have no debts. It is necessary to strive to obtain the right to higher payments. For comparison, the average amount of an increased academic scholarship in the last academic year was about 7,000 rubles.

Today, the views of all students in Russia are turned to the State Duma, where a bill has been introduced justifying the increase in scholarships to the level of the minimum wage, which means raising the level of minimum payments to 7800 rubles.

Increased scholarships

The right to an increased social scholarship is granted on the basis of a package of documents confirming the special status of the student. Applicants for increased social benefits include:

  • orphans;
  • children deprived of parental care;
  • disabled people of groups 1 and 2;
  • disabled people and war veterans;
  • Chernobyl victims.

The accrual of an increased academic scholarship is a difficult process, since the amount of payments directly depends on the student's rating and his personal achievements. The amount of financial assistance, as well as the criteria for its applicants, is determined by each university independently.

If you are planning to compete for an advanced academic scholarship, it is important to know that:

  • the scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis;
  • only 10% of students on a regular scholarship are eligible for higher payments;
  • the accrual decision is reviewed every semester.

An informational video was released for students of the Siberian Federal University on how to get an increased scholarship. Perhaps he will shed light on some of your questions.

Named government and presidential scholarships in 2017-2018

For special achievements in study and scientific work, students of higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation are provided with a scholarship from the President, which in the 2017-2018 academic year will be provided for 700 students and 300 graduate students in the amount of 2,000 rubles. and 4500 rubles. respectively.

The number of students at a particular university will be determined by allocating quotas. The largest number of Presidential Fellows this year will receive:

The distribution of quotas for graduate students for 2017-2018 gives the right to assert that the president's scholarship will be more accessible to scientists of such universities:

UniversityQuota
1 Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology7
2 National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI"7
3 Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics7
4 Ural Federal University Yeltsin6
5 Peter the Great St. Petersburg National Research University5

In addition to the presidential, students can compete for other nominal payments:

  • Moscow government scholarships;
  • regional scholarships;
  • scholarships of commercial organizations: Potaninskaya, VTB Bank, Dr. Web, etc.

For which scholarships can be deprived

Most budget students expect to receive a scholarship upon admission. But, in practice, not all university students maintain a high level and receive financial assistance throughout the entire period of study. The loss of a scholarship is a serious problem for many, and therefore it is worthwhile to find out in advance what can lead to such negative consequences and try to avoid such situations.

So, in the overwhelming majority of cases, a student is denied a scholarship if:

  • the student regularly skips couples;
  • there is academic debt at the end of the academic semester;
  • grades below the "good" level appear on the record-book.

You will also have to say goodbye to the scholarship when switching to correspondence courses and when applying for an academic leave. However, all these reasons are well known and lead not only to the loss of the scholarship, but also to the departure from the university.

Probably, every student, even the future one, today is worried and very interested in the issue of a financial allowance in the form of a scholarship, which should be received by studying at an educational institution after graduation. The scholarship for students of the 2016-2017 academic year is one of the most relevant and very interesting topics, since the size, and the issue of increasing it, is under close control and attention. At present, the State Duma of the Russian Federation is considering a bill initiating an increase in scholarships for both state employees and full-time graduate students, since no scholarships are expected for the correspondence department. It is worth noting that this social payment today does not meet and does not correspond to the established subsistence minimum. What does this lead to? To the fact that every day more and more students are forced to look for additional income, which to a greater extent distracts and interferes with the educational process, affecting the results and quality of education. According to the new bill, an increase in the premium can already be expected from January 1, 2016.

Who should expect a raise?

According to the Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov, all scholarships will be indexed in a mandatory manner, depending on the region and actual inflation rates, although the initial increase was planned by 20%. But due to the economic difficulties that arose, this option was not adopted.

Currently, the cost of living in the country is at the level of 9 662 rubles, and, therefore, the increase in the scholarship should be at the appropriate level so that the student does not even have a thought about looking for a part-time job, but he should devote all his time to the educational process.

How much will the scholarships increase?

Everyone knows that there are several types of scholarships for students, and each individual group has its own numbers and features of the provision, which you must be aware of.

First, this is a regular scholarship. The amount of such a cash payment in its maximum manifestation can increase up to 10,000 rubles. But, do not flatter yourself too much and rejoice, since the size of the scholarship in each region will be different and differ from the central one. But, nevertheless, the size of the minimum scholarship will not be less than the subsistence minimum established by regions, therefore, the scholarship directly depends on the characteristics and economic situation of the region.

  • Secondly, the presidential scholarship. This cash payment is awarded to the group of students whose research work is marked at the national level. It should be noted that for students, the amount of such a grant will be 7 00 rubles. And for graduate students - 14,000 rubles.
  • Third, there is a presidential scholarship, which can be obtained by undergraduate and graduate students under the age of 35. As a rule, it is assigned in the case of advanced research and development of various industries related to the modernization and development of the country's economy. The amount of such payment will reach 22,800 rubles, that is, increased by 10% compared to the previous one.

  • The scholarship, for many applicants, is the only source of funds. This is especially true for those who are more interested in getting a high-quality professional education and want to become a truly highly qualified and knowledgeable specialist. That is why the well-being of students directly depends on the size of their cash allowance, which must reach the required level in order to meet all requirements and requests. In the event that the bill is passed, scholarships for students will be a good help to excellent studies, where, of course, the educational process will come first, and not an additional job search.
