Acceptance of applications from applicants for the MGIMO Master's program in 2020 will be held from June 17, 2020 to July 20, 2020 (inclusive).

How many full-time Master's programs can I apply for?
You can apply for a maximum of two full-time Master's programs, with prioritization indicated. If you pass through the competition for both programs, you will be enrolled in the program that you indicated as the first (priority) choice. Re-prioritization of programs is not allowed afterwards.
What entrance tests do I need to take for a full-time master's degree program?
For admission to most of MGIMO's master's programs, there are two entrance tests: in a foreign language and in a specialty (depending on the chosen direction of study and master's program). I chose two master's programs in different directions for admission. Will I be able to get into both entrance examinations in a foreign language and in a specialty?
Entrance tests in a foreign language for master's programs of all directions will be held at the same time, but in different classrooms. If they are more than 15 minutes late, applicants are not allowed to the entrance examinations.
Entrance tests in the specialty will be held according to the approved schedule. For a number of programs, tests will take place at the same time, so on the day of the exam, you will still need to decide which of the master's programs is more important to you.
What foreign language can I take on the entrance test?
You can take any foreign language from the list of available for delivery for programs in the areas of "International Relations" and "Foreign Regional Studies". The rest of the programs provide for the delivery of only the main European languages (English, French, German, Spanish and Russian (for citizens of Kazakhstan, South Ossetia, Belarus, Abkhazia, Kyrgyzstan and citizens with the status of compatriots, the delivery of Russian as a foreign language as an introductory language is not allowed) ). On which master's programs it is possible to study two or more foreign languages?
On master's programs in the areas of training "Foreign Regional Studies", "Pedagogical Education" and "Linguistics", it is compulsory to study two foreign languages:
- in the master's degree in the direction of training "Foreign Regional Studies", it is mandatory to study the language of the region of specialization and of English language, while proficiency in these two foreign languages must be at a level not lower than B2 - C1;
- in the master's program in the areas of training "Pedagogical Education" and "Linguistics" it is compulsory to study English as the first and French or Spanish as the second. At the same time, fluency in French and Spanish- not lower than B1 level.
Students in all other master's programs can, if they wish, study any of the foreign languages presented at MGIMO on a contractual basis at the MGIMO Center for the Study of Foreign Languages.

Yes, it is provided, but not guaranteed, due to the significantly increased last years the number of nonresident students. We kindly ask you to leave a request for a hostel before leaving Moscow after passing the entrance examinations! Places in the hostel are allocated in the order of receipt of applications from enrolled applicants. Therefore, there is no full guarantee that you will immediately check into the hostel by submitting an application upon arrival to study at the end of August.
