Upon arrival at school, your child finds himself in a rigid system of social relations in the classroom. In elementary school, it hardly manifests itself in any way. Almost all first graders are heavily influenced by their parents.

However, already in elementary school, the class is divided into two categories: those who work for the status and those who work for the diary. The status is assessed by the leader and classmates, the diary is assessed by the student himself and his parents. Whose assessment is more significant for the student, he chooses the other side.

As you probably remember from childhood, the sharp structuring of the hierarchy begins in puberty (ten to twelve years). This is especially pronounced in classes that do not retain composition with primary school, and reassembled.

At first, everyone looks closely at each other, and after "grinding in" the final composition of the groups is formed, roles are formed, for almost the entire remaining time of the class's existence. The level of the school hierarchy reaches its peak in the sixth-ninth grades.

Your child's place in the school hierarchy depends on how confident he is in himself, his self-esteem, independence from the opinions of others, from his character, and many other factors.

The set of school roles in the school hierarchy is small. Here they are:

Social roles boys:

Alpha.

Alpha's primary role is to organize the class, maintain a single structure, and manage this mass. For example, if Alpha wants to leave lessons, the class leaves with him. Or Alpha wants to loudly indignant at the teacher's actions - the whole class is even louder indignant behind him. No more or less serious decision is not made without the knowledge and consent of Alpha. And, of course, the persecution of the local Omega is organized by him.

Second Alpha

Quite a rare occurrence. Represents another student in the class with the qualities of a leader. Peaceful coexistence of two alphas is possible because the alternative alpha does not participate in the ranked struggle in any way, he already has where to spend his potential.

In the presence of the second Alpha, Omega lives more calmly, since he is the only one who can defend him. But since there is no time to constantly protect him anyway, the presence of such a defender in the class does not remove the status of a victim from an outcast.

Beta

There are one or two in the class. Alpha's only friends. These are people whom he trusts and whose opinions he listens to. They can be both from ordinary middle-income families and from families of intellectuals. Beth is either not as good as Alpha, has a hanging tongue, or lacks charisma, because they cannot directly control the class. But they run through Alpha.

Gamma

Most are usually half class. They follow Alpha's heels, fulfilling his whims and currying favor if they are guilty of something. Sometimes they receive resources (sometimes material, but more often moral), which Alpha and his retinue conquer. Compared to the Gammas, the Alpha and Betas get more, the Epsilons get nothing, and the Omegas even give.

Epsilons

These are those who are commonly called the "gray mass". In terms of quantity - the remaining unreached male component of the class minus Omega. They go to school not to feel "cool", but because it is necessary.

Omega

The central person in the entire hierarchical system. An absolutely essential component for any close team. As you know, in the presence of a common enemy, the collective rallies for a merciless struggle against him. The class, in which there is a pronounced Omega, is friendly, cheerful and seemingly healthy.

If the victim for some reason leaves the class (or acquires resistance to stress), they usually find a replacement from the number of Gamm, or the class is divided into several groups, between which intergroup processes begin.

Social roles of girls:

Girls in the class also form hierarchies, which at first practically do not intersect with the hierarchies of boys. Intersection occurs only at 13-15 years old - the period of onset of puberty.

There are usually several girls-leaders, and from the very beginning two or three almost non-contacting groups of interests are formed. Under the age of thirteen, girls are not interested in Alphas or boys in general. On the rare occasion that groupings overlap, girl leaders have authority over boy leaders.

Due to this heterogeneity of the female part of the class, the outcast girl who is bullied by everyone does not often arise. In general, the hierarchical structure of girls has much less strength than a boy's, and over the years of study it can change quite a lot.

Alpha.

Basically, they are either girls who have a reputation as the first beauty and, among other things, a bitchy character, or excellent girls with high self-esteem... In the first case, Alpha is the trendsetter in the classroom.

The main feature of Alpha is that they become the favorite students of the teachers. The teacher may not listen to the Alpha-boy, but he will definitely listen to the opinion of the Alpha-girl.

Alpha Girl has an exclusive, undeniable and non-negotiable right to Alpha Boy. Compared to Alpha-boy, her position is far from being so strong in the classroom, because the women's collective is never and nowhere a cohesive structure in which everyone is “for each other”.

The absence of an Omega girl can make the leadership position generally purely symbolic, especially when there is more than one grouping of girls. If there is more than one Alpha Girl in the class, then permanent war will take place between them.

Beta

As a rule, two or three girlfriends of Alpha. Alpha needs them to spread gossip and provide small services, for example, escorting to the toilet, providing an apartment, etc. if necessary. But they are not real friends, as in the Alpha and Beta boys relationship. And they don't differ much from Gamma girls.

The reason is in feminine nature, according to which girls can fully trust only guys, and they always have rivalry with other girls.

Note that Alpha girls prefer to take more ordinary-looking people as their friends. This is due to the fact that not every Alpha will like that her friend beats off the guys from her, so she is looking for more opaque friends in order to look more advantageous in front of the boys against their background.

Gamma

They are in a more advantageous position than the Gamma boys, due to the fact that Alpha still respects them and practically does not take out his anger at them.

Epsilon Is the same gray mass.

Omega among girls, they are elected according to the same templates, but more attention is paid to their appearance - they are often the most ugly, stupid or poorly dressed, or those who are not able to keep track of their appearance.

The most common type of bullying of an unwanted girl is her complete ignorance, but this is practiced in more highly cultured classes, in elite lyceums, etc. In less cultural ones, bullying does not fundamentally differ from the male version.

The Soviet film "Scarecrow" shows an ideal example of possible bullying in relation to the Omega girl.

Keep in mind that the teacher almost never takes the side of the victim of bullying and, in general, tries to hide the very fact of hazing in the classroom as much as possible. This happens for a very simple reason: any recorded fact of bullying a child is a stain on the reputation of both the individual teacher and the whole teaching staff schools with mandatory sanctions.

In addition, the deterioration of the reputation educational institution will lead to an outflow of the most useful clientele for the school, which shoves children into different places, but they can just sue money. The school leaders themselves, who do not have real penetrating power and inner core, are used as a tool, as a source of charisma. Most of the heads of state perform precisely this function.

If Alpha was on the part of hooligans, then the matter usually ends with a long-term imprisonment in places not so distant, death from a knife in one of the fights or death from a drug overdose or an accident.

As for the Alpha girls, they most often marry successfully (for the same Alpha or Beta boys).

In the event that Alpha Girl is married to Beta Boyfriend, she can promote her spouse up the career ladder thanks to her charisma and charisma, and, ultimately, the ex-Beta becomes Alpha and achieves wealth and fame.

Gamma Boys remain Gammams all their adult lives. With female Gamma, in principle, everything is clear: after school, they usually marry early to their own kind Gamma guys.

Epsilons are arranged in completely different ways, but more often in a good quiet place.

The ex-Omegas are the hardest. After school, they have to re-learn how to communicate with people. Of course, because they are accustomed to the fact that no one likes them, and they will be punished for the slightest mistake. If in a few years Omega can defeat these complexes in himself, then it will become easier in the future.

Some ex-Omegas can be found well settled in this life, which can be explained by the ability to experience developed over difficult years stressful situations... Some Omega Boys, thanks to their youthful temper and innate abilities or pathologies (for which they were not loved in childhood), come to such success that the Alphas and Betas could not even dream of.

If you notice that your child has taken the place of "Omega" in the rigid system of the school hierarchy, then this is a serious reason to sound the alarm! He cannot cope with this problem on his own, he can only count on your help and support. As a last resort, be prepared if you need to change schools. In any case, seek the advice of an experienced psychologist.

Psychological hierarchy as a factor in the formation of a person's personality.

According to the theory of evolution, man descended from the monkey, naturally, having inherited all its principles and habits. Among them was the principle of the formation of society. That is, roughly speaking, there must be leaders, retinue, "middle class", hard workers, and there are all sorts of "scum". The struggle for the possession of power is waged, as a rule, in the center, and the periphery is silent until it itself is touched. At the same time, for each of the ranks, the rights and obligations of the individuals included in it are prescribed, as well as the degree of subordination to individuals of higher groups.

Actually, such questions in his study are raised by psychology social groups , which studies the mechanisms of interactions within relatively closed groups. And since the conscious formation of the personality begins (and in some cases - and ends) as early as adolescence, the strongest manifestations of psychological struggle are observed there, and even a little later - by the age of 20-23. What happens to a person over such an interval of 10-12 years will largely determine his future position in society.

So, one of the many models of informal relationships that exist in society is, oddly enough, an ordinary school class and an ordinary institute group. There are several prerequisites for this. First, the ever-increasing need for self-realization, and the search for ways to implement it. Secondly, the educational team is a very cramped environment that has existed for many years, and it is very difficult to get out of it. That is, over the course of ten whole years of schooling, the class as a social group becomes more and more self-contained, only strengthening the informal hierarchy. Of course, in the institute environment, everything is being formed anew, but with the same final result in five years. And, thirdly, do not forget about the growing seething of hormones (in every sense), which significantly strengthens self-esteem and recklessness. The duration of the processes depends on the prevailing social status, as well as the general intellectual and cultural level in the group. Subsequently, this passes, the passions subside, but the results remain.

Beyond the Sun: Components of the Hierarchy.

Thus, one can imagine a general picture of the emergence of such a group. It all starts with a simple division of it into two parts: those who work for status and those who work for assessment. Some people succeed in both. At first, of course, they still look closely at each other, but then the final structure is formed, invulnerable (with rare exceptions) right up to the very issuance of a certificate or diploma.

Such a hierarchy, in its classical sense, can be represented as solar system... In the center is the core of the actual power, alpha stars revolve around in the nearest hot orbit, and beta stars cover them a little further. Then, closer and closer to the cold, gammas, deltas, epsilons and omegas are spinning.

In this case, gender division is important. It is interesting that if more than half of the group is its female part, then matriarchy is established, which in its tough dictatorship is not inferior to male power. And 95% of the stronger sex, willy-nilly, are forced to go to the margins of the system. Maybe somewhere it happens and vice versa, but in modern reality this is already a great rarity.

The classical hierarchy includes six main elements, usually arranged vertically.

Alpha (Alpha Basic).

It is considered a formal leader in a group, and is promoted to the top as the most viable one. It takes a really high status to become an Alpha. Plus to this there is also charisma, a well-hung tongue, overestimated self-esteem and consumer attitude towards the rest of the group. However, this consumer attitude must necessarily be combined with the patronage of their "subjects" and a clear distribution of roles.

Alpha's main role is to organize the group around him, maintain a single structure and manage the general mass. In this situation, the main thing for Alpha is, first of all, to sit in its high place. To do this, he needs to track the actions of potential competitors and stop any encroachments on power. Also, no more or less serious decision should not be made without his participation.

The requirements for Alpha's place are best met by children from wealthy families - in other words, "the right children, the right parents." As a rule, attention is drawn to them (often spontaneously) from the first days. And around them, almost immediately, a flock of males and females of a lower rank is built up, wanting to get used to more advanced and, as a feeling is created, more intelligent individuals. Although intellectual abilities for Alpha are hardly in the first place. After all, a person who is not stuffed with knowledge, even the most charismatic, is unlikely to be able to lead the hierarchy. Therefore, it often turns out that the entire environment of Alpha is much more stupid than himself, which only at times strengthens the halo on his head. The ideal option is if Alpha becomes the head of the group. And, of course, an excellent student (excellent student).

Alpha's position in the group is strong and does not change much until the end of the collective's existence. The only threat can only be a competitor from the outside, because (most importantly!) From within such a system, a new Alpha cannot arise in principle.

Groups with a predominance of alpha males and alpha females differ significantly. If in the first case there can be only one leader, then in the second, dual power is also possible, and unpredictable from the very beginning. For example, when forming an institute group, it includes two Alphas who came from different places, but are somewhat similar to each other. But competition does not happen: they become best friends, and for five years of study they can easily rule in tandem, without even trying to share power. A conflict between them is possible only theoretically, but only behind the scenes, or even after graduation.

Beta (Beta Basic).

There is one such person in a group, less often - two. It is considered the best friend of Alpha (or two Alphas, in the case of their dual power), but in fact acts as a kind of personal assistant. The Betas are engaged in accompanying Alpha everywhere and everywhere: they go into the classroom together, share cigarettes and drinks with them, go to the buffet or to the toilet, be late for classes ... And always together.

The main task is to directly contact the general mass and dispose of it, which Alphas usually disdain. Alpha and Beta must be of the same gender. In the case of patriarchy, the Beta male differs from Alpha in less ambition, less hanging tongue, but more sociable, which Alpha, due to his straightforwardness, does not have. If necessary, Beta can act as a leader and, in general, have a clear control over the situation if Alpha suddenly gets cold feet in front of a threat (it also happens). Serves as a reliable rear, by the way.

In the female hierarchy, everything is different. Beta selects the most diligent and loyal of the lower ranks of the Gamm. The main requirements for Beta are to do nothing but look into the Alpha's mouth and agree with them in every possible way on any occasion. Appearance and intelligence do not play a big role, Alphas generally prefer to put scary and stupid in this position - and they themselves are not a hindrance, and Beta's halo grows to the envy of other Gammams. Such a Beta should be, first of all, very slippery and have resourcefulness, but in no case should it be a leader. This protects against possible unpleasant consequences, because there is a certain type of Beth, with hidden habits of Alpha. And if in the male hierarchy this is quite bearable, then the appearance of such a person in a matriarchal group threatens with a serious conflict at the top. No Beta “hidden Alpha” will put up with a secondary role for a long time due to its no less high status than that of the Alphas and the necessary connections from the outside.

So for Beta, a latent desire to remove Alpha from the throne is much more natural than an open devotion.

Gamma.

The most numerous part is in about half a group. Hang out in the hierarchy at the bottom relative to Alpha and Beta. The main task is to follow the "masters" with their numerical majority, fulfilling their whims and currying favor with them in every possible way. Intellectual ability- certainly not higher than the top. The total brain mass may be higher, but the Gammas are considered one of the most psychologically suppressed layers in the group. That is, they have no desire for leadership, they are generally satisfied with their position, and they were taught not to express their own opinion back in school years.

The Gamm interlayer, which at first glance seems to be uniform and unshakable, is very diffuse and heterogeneous. Passions are boiling here for the right to stand closer to the Alphas and Betas. As a result, there are Privileged Scales and Peripheral ... This composition may periodically change, for example, depending on whose girlfriend the ex-Gamma, chosen for the role of Beta, was, or which of the Gamm Alphas may be appointed as the headman (wanting to rule, but not wanting to take on much responsibility). And some of the Gammas can fall under the distribution from Alpha for minor "offenses", and others, more helpful ones, immediately fall into their place. Gammas are very easily excitable and unstable, but they do not dare to attack people of a higher rank, preferring, first of all, Epsilons or Omegas as targets.

Delta.

Not very numerous. They are located outside the common vertical, and exist, as it were, parallel to the rest. Unlike the scales, they are homogeneous in composition, with a predominance of the male sex. In the case of matriarchy, these are the same 95% of males who have gone to extreme orbits. They are located approximately on the same level with the scales, but, unlike the latter, they are not psycho-suppressed, but rather indifferent to the struggle for influence in the group.

Delta's main quality is diligence and increased efficiency. At the same time, it is somehow illogically combined with general disorganization and laziness. There are even more abilities than Gamm, but the Delta use this reluctantly, preferring to stew in their own juice. That is, they are able to achieve good and even excellent results, but do not consider it necessary for themselves. And so - in one reading they can figure out even the very difficult outline and the most unreadable spur.

Because of (or thanks to?) Such inconsistency, the Delta are trying to establish relations with all members of the collective, trying to please everyone at the same time, and primarily Gammam. For example, you can successfully combine your intellectual nature with a party-like nature. Motivated easily and in the same way as Gamma - the ability to eat "scraps from the master's table." Deltas can be most often found at various parties of the group - there they hope to drive closer to the Alphas and Betas. Sometimes it succeeds, and if successful, the Alpha female will make the Delta male her young man. Such an individual is called "Pseudo-Alpha" and among others, Delta is considered the most authoritative, although its position is completely dependent on Alpha Basic.

Deltas in their mass most significantly stratify the group, since they can act on the principle "both yours and ours." They can communicate freely with the Gammas, the Epsilons, and even the Omega.

There is another type of Delta - the so-called Enigma ... A very rare type of people, distinguished by excessive inadequacy and pretense of behavior, and in any sense of the word. Likes to be in the spotlight, but not by status, but by his stupidity. For Alf and Beth, as a rule, he serves as a court jester, getting thunderous applause for his clownery. And sometimes it can be oppressed and worse than Omega - it all depends on the will of the rulers.

Epsilon.

Stereotypical niggas, the quietest and most inconspicuous part of the group. They go with the flow in a peculiar way, they are present not for the sake of their status, but because “it should be so”. In the hierarchy, they occupy a place at the level with the Gammas, while, like the Deltas, they are on the sidelines. Independent of the general vertical, but indecisive and inactive. The mental abilities and bottom line are sometimes higher than those of Alpha and Beta, but this does not change the overall picture at all.

They avoided falling to the very bottom thanks to the reserve of psychological stability and their indifference to the life of the group in general and in particular. This has ambiguous consequences - on the one hand, the Alphas and Betas do not touch them, but on the other hand, it is definitely not necessary to count on a high position, and most importantly, you need to manage only on your own.

Attacks on the Epsilons, if carried out, are only from the Privileged Gamm and for all sorts of minor reasons (for example, better result on the control, etc.), and nothing more. With the Peripheral Scales, as well as with the Deltas and Omegas, a common language is found pretty quickly. And, what is curious, as soon as the composition of Gamm is reshuffled, yesterday's "enemies" for the Epsilons can already be friends with them.

There is a rare variety of Epsilons - " shape-shifters "(Most often girls). Initially, they belong to the Epsilons, but at first (a year or two, for example) they cannot clearly define their position, now and then moving along the lower layer of the hierarchy. As a result, they face a choice: to stay away from the vertical and live as before, or to join the Gammam (where they are "fed" more deliciously and more satisfyingly) in order to try to become the Privileged among them, due to higher intelligence and good organization. Subsequently, she may have the opportunity to get into Beta's place (the risk of gaining the status of a "fool" is compensated by a growing halo on her head).

However, the Epsilon-changer has more than a dual character, therefore, in his presence, Alphas risk getting problems on their own heads from such a "friend": firstly, she is smarter, secondly, more beautiful, and thirdly, she can move them, in view of a latent lust for power, and for Gamm it has long since become hers. When exiled from the general vertical, the shape-shifter can return back to the Epsilons, if they have not finally sent it.

Omega.

The lowest link in the hierarchy, but often the most central. In school years, not a single class usually does without him, in college years, Omega can not be observed at all.

Before recalling what Omega is and how everyone treats it, please remember the movie "Scarecrow" or, in extreme cases, one of the heroines of the series "School". Here, better than there, the image of Omega is unlikely to be able to convey.

So, Omega is considered a common "enemy" for vertical elements (Alpha, Bet, Gamm). A class in which a pronounced Omega is present is quite normal. Omega by its presence allows you to keep Gamm united, which is very beneficial for the Alphas and Betas, and not at all because there is any special personal dislike for him. But in the absence of such a character, among the Gamm, confusion and war between the Privileged and the Peripheral will surely begin, from which the top will feel uncomfortable.

Omega, among others, falls under the distribution not at all because it harmed someone or offended someone. It's just that in such an environment, adolescents have a clearly supernatural sense of smell and are able to smell the most vulnerable in the general mass. Why and how further bullying and open psychological pressure occurs is another question. Well, I wanted to, and that's it.

But the reasons for the psychological weakness of Omega just can be named quite definitely, and this, first of all, is upbringing, which develops extremely low self-esteem and, as a result, susceptibility to psycho-suppression. So they took and instilled in him (her) in childhood that one should not give back, one must be polite, courteous and so on. And even worse - if the atmosphere in the family is generally bad, or the family is incomplete. In short, the direct social opposite of Alpha, "unnecessary children of unnecessary parents." As a result, we have a completely amorphous creature, incapable of even the slightest resistance.

Another reason (or rather, a consequence of upbringing) is that Omega tries to be (exponentially) too correct, dress correctly, study diligently, believing that this will allow him to become successful. As a rule, it does not allow ... For Gamm such people fall into the category of "white crows". If it were a little more stable, it could be attributed to the Epsilons, but here characteristic stresses and frequent depressions are felt, because of which the "victim" once again does not withstand the pressure. And even if he is a hundred times smarter than the Epsilons, it will not help, because it is easier and more profitable for Gammam to eat from an "alpha-beta" feeder, but not to mess with outsiders.

As noted above, Omega is always present in the school environment. If there is none, the weakest of the Gamm (necessarily guilty from the Peripheral) or Deltas is "chosen" for the role of the victim, and everything goes according to the script that was worked out, but it is not clear by whom and when.

At school, Omega is only present in the singular. When moving to an institute, he can slightly transform, at most up to the level of Epsilon or Delta (but remain an Omega in essence). For the institute environment, the phenomenon of Omega is generally uncharacteristic.

Thus, we have considered the classical model of the hierarchy. But its existence in such an "ideal" form, oddly enough, is impossible. After all, built in this way, sooner or later it will fall into a state of stagnation, and here other very interesting subjects appear ...

Three Power at the Alpha Level: The Essence of the Conflict.

To do this, let's go back in time, to the very beginning of the formation of the team. Indeed, it may contain not one or two potential Alphas. At first a couple of months there may be a "fermentation of the masses", and the group will be more or less monotonous. But gradually it may become clear that next to the main vertical, in addition to the traditional Deltas and Epsilons, there is something else, and clearly at an unacceptably high place. His name is

Alpha Competing.

A competitor in the literal sense of the word for Alpha Basic (the main thing is necessarily the same sex). Appears almost immediately, in one of the ways. The first way is the exiled Beta (the same "hidden Alpha"), who does not want to put up with the role of a fool. In fact, she falls out of the general structure, in which there is no more room for her, but wants to pay back. The second way is Alpha, who initially did not want to "bend". Occasionally, both Alpha Competing can act at the same time. At first, the goal is one - to knock out the centering as much as possible from under the common vertical, and preferably for good. However, this requires recruiting your own "subjects".

In the first case, this can be done by luring away a part of the dissatisfied Gamm (Peripheral), Deltas, or by becoming supportive of the Epsilons. Here, the count can literally go on for seconds: today Gamma has become undesirable for "them", and for the Competing Alpha, she is the best ally, and even a potential Beta. In general, a war is unfolding for the possession of "live weight". And the Gammas have no idea who they are being held for ...

In the second case, a completely separate vertical is built. Three or four allies are enough for such an Alpha Competing, and no more. They are chosen, as a rule, from the Epsilons, less often from the Gamm (since they are already snapped up). But the most reliable people from her point of view are chosen, one of them is appointed Beta Competing .

Such a phenomenon, and especially both cases at once, make it possible to significantly reshape the general structure of the group. But the appearance of another element introduces much more confusion ...

Alpha Alternative.

It arises, as a rule, even at the stage of the formation of a group, it manifests itself almost immediately. Represents a subject with pronounced leadership qualities, but not claiming power. For this, Alpha Alternative deliberately keeps away from the general vertical, not fencing off as a whole. Present in the singular.

A rare combination of characters: he possesses the psychological stability inherent in Alpha, high conceit, but at the same time is smart enough, creative and completely indifferent to the "rulers", like the Epsilons. In addition, in the case of an explicit matriarchy, he, unlike the Alpha Competing, is necessarily a person of the opposite sex in relation to the Alpha Basic, which can somewhat mitigate the conflict. Otherwise (if Alpha Alternative is female, which happens even less often) passions may heat up, but none of them will cross a certain line anyway.

Another difference from other Alphas is that it does not recruit "subjects" for itself, preferring a solo voyage. Like the downstream Epsilons, it relies only on its own strength. But at the same time, he is also confident in the efficient use of his potential, because he knows where he can be directed - not to a rank battle, for example, but to an imperceptible but effective bypass of Alpha Basic in the current situation. True, he is not subject to the complex of an excellent student, therefore he motivates himself rather by the very process of achieving a result and moving to a new level. And this result is even higher than that of Alf and Beth.

So, at the highest level in the group, you can now count four subjects, completely different in nature. The situation has finally calmed down and we can observe the top.

If Alpha Main is a female, then Alpha Alternative in this case is necessarily a male. The conflict is present, but it occurs in a sluggish and sometimes ridiculous form. There is only one reason for this - the Alternative Alpha does not need to take the place of the Basic Alpha in the hierarchy, but as a woman he is categorically uninteresting to him (well, he swore to communicate with the “majors”!). Alpha Main, in her own opinion, is the only contender for at least some Alpha male. But, realizing that in the end she will not achieve anything, she is very offended, but the maximum that gives out is a phrase like: "You ask me for something! .." This is where it all ends, until the next hormonal surge in the female ...

For Alfa Alternative, if she is a female (but, again, this is a rare phenomenon), the situation arises even more advantageous, but also more tense. Because, as a rule, the first beauty in the group is she, and in terms of intellect, she does not in any way suggest herself to be "subjects" to the Major Alphas. Naturally, the Alpha Principal will envy her on a certain basis, since the self-sufficiency of the Alternative Alpha female necessarily attracts male attention in the group and beyond. But the conflict on the part of Alpha Basic occurs at most in the form of "answer her faster and pass the test faster" and in general it is indicative to try to be the best (first of all, in front of his subjects). And naturally, not without total disregard, along with his retinue. However, no one dares to do more. Because Alpha Main is strong with the support of Beth and Gamm, but for the time being, because they dream of seeing the "mistress" crushed with might and main. His relations with other elements of the group develop in different ways. As for the Alphas and Betas of the Main, everything is clear, but with the Alphas and Betas Competing, he easily finds a common language. And to be more precise, they are with him, at least out of a sense of contradiction. However, the closer the session (that is, the struggle for the result), the distance between all Alphas naturally increases.

Gammas reasonably consider the Alternative Alpha too "proud" and "arrogant" for themselves, because he does not drink with them and does not feed them with handouts. But none of them (both males and females) often try not to crawl up to him (even without conflict - very carefully), because they risk getting scolded by the "owners". Males - for the fact that they do not obey the main Alpha male, and females - for the fact that the Alpha Main can see them as potential competitors. In the case of conflict situation, Gammas remain a loser, because they are used to acting only with Epsilons and Omegas - the Alternative Alpha, in principle, does not care about it all, in extreme cases - it will answer once and for all to be remembered. Also, the Epsilons gravitate to the Alternative Alpha (due to the similarity of some traits in the characters, plus they see in him the strength they lack), and the Deltas can also ask for help. As for a single Epsilon (including the opposite sex), in communication with the Alternative Alpha, he sees some personal benefit for himself, counting on his help. This allows him to feel comfortable, like behind a stone wall, and at the same time achieve results on a par with other Alphas and Betas, without interfering with their grouping. In turn, Alpha Alternative requires Epsilon to be straightforward in the game, since he does not tolerate “shape-shifters”, at the slightest hint of a double play, Epsilon with a good mate goes far away. And in general, Alfa Alternative is firmly convinced that it is necessary to achieve the result (oh, horror!) With your brains, and not by feeding from the outside.

Beyond the finish line: the consequences of being in the hierarchy.

So, diplomas have been awarded, everyone is diverging in their directions ... What awaits them in their now adult life, when they have completed 15 years of study in a relatively closed society?

Beta males, of course, are best suited, precisely because of their responsibility, ability to gain confidence and good performance. These are the first applicants for the positions of managers of various kinds. Alpha males (Main) seem to swap places with their former "assistants", since they themselves do not have real strength and power. But their key trump card is still charisma. The main areas of activity can be programming, working as a "full-time director" or even a politician. However, it is not a fact that in the new team they will not fall to the level of Gamma or Omega, which is really bad.

Alpha females Basic most often marry successfully, or rather, they are simply successfully given off on account of the same "necessary children of the necessary parents." The beta female can expect about the same result, but much worse, since she was always and in everything inferior to the Alpha females. Is it about work? - Unknown.

The marriage of an Alpha female and a Beta male will be considered the most successful, since charisma plus diligence will give an effective result in the future. The situation with the Alpha Female Competing is absolutely identical, since the choice is not very rich. The self-sufficient Alpha female Alternative, at least, will look for a man with the makings of an Alpha (and this could be Alpha, and Beta, and even the unrevealed Epsilon) - such is her choice. Work for her, as for a versatile person, will depend on various factors.

For the Alpha male of the Alternative, perhaps the companion will become the same Alpha female or Epsilon female, which, most importantly, will be his reliable rear in life. His work will definitely not be related to business, but rather will be related to a very unexpected area. Epsilons, on the other hand, generally arrange their lives in different ways, but still calm and quiet.

Gammas and Deltas (both males and females), as a rule, remain at their level for the rest of their lives. Basically, they become small distributors, office plankton, workers in a decaying factory, or from the inability to do something, they simply go into the creative environment, where, of course, they spoil everything. They marry and marry, for the most part, on their own kind.

With Omegas (or rather with ex-Omegas), the situation is most difficult, since most of them find it very difficult to re-learn how to communicate with people. If Omega manages to overcome these complexes, then it will become easier to live on. Over time, resistance to stressful situations can develop, and Omega can achieve some success, along with the same Alphas and Betas. However, if he remains the same as before, then his life will not differ much from the same Gamm, essentially useless to anyone. The problem will be exacerbated if several such typical Gamm and Omegas, after failed psychological "rehabilitation" courses from some half-educated psychologist, end up together, in one team, and only feel equally bad in society, with all the ensuing consequences.

Summing up, we can say that such a hierarchy has always existed - because in any case, the most diverse group will sooner or later rally into a single system. But the very situation in it depends on many factors. For example, the decency of the institution itself, the gender ratio in the group, as well as the stability of the hierarchy. As already noted, the less "stagnant" hierarchy is more tenacious, due to active and not so much conflicts at the top. And finally (and actually, in the first place!), Special attention should be paid to the formation of the personality not in a closed society, but outside it, for example, in the home, in the family.

The described model is to some extent rather arbitrary. In some, it is quite consistent with real situations that can be observed with your own eyes. Here everyone has their own choice, and when and at what level of the hierarchy he made it - that's another question.

Each class has its own hierarchy. And on the part of teachers and children. But not a single homeroom teacher will admit it. Because persuading, conducting conversations about equality is a direct responsibility of teachers, which they do not want to do.

Teachers conditionally divide the class according to the following criteria:

- Academic performance.

- Personal sympathy.

- The financial component of the parents.

Academic achievement and personal sympathy are interconnected. If the teacher does not like the student, he is unlikely to become an excellent student. But a student of average ability with support class teacher or another teacher can get excellent grades. The attitude towards children from wealthy families is ambiguous. Some try to please parents and schoolchildren in every possible way in order to receive gifts and financial rewards. Other teachers are jealous and deliberately knock down the student. The hierarchy in the educational institution differs significantly from the division of the teacher. It consists of the following groups:

Leaders. Among boys and girls there are so-called leaders. They decide who to bully, what lessons to attend, what music to listen to, what movies are cool, what clothes to wear, who deserves to be among their elite and other issues. Almost everyone wants to meet with them. Very rarely, excellent students lead such a group, but there are such cases. There are aggressive leaders who punish disobedience. For example, in the book "Scarecrow" Mironova was such a cruel leader. Somov was also a leader who studied well. Among boys, the leader is either the strongest or with a good sense of humor.

Friends of the leaders. The rest of the students envy them because they have powerful patrons.

"Cool". This group is almost in competition with the leaders or closely merged into one whole. Such students smoke, drink, swear, skip school, hang out with high school students and respected people in the area. Studying is not held in high esteem for them. Girls from this group start dating older boys earlier. But woe to contact them or not to please them. They can challenge you or just beat you up. Teachers believe that nothing good will come of such children, and strive to quickly release them.

"Sixes". They want to be friends with cool or leaders at any cost. Such classmates are not respected, but used. They have no opinion. Therefore, they are most often substituted. For example, they incite to steal a thing in the store, and they themselves run away, leaving a classmate to deal with the problem. Even after such an incident, the "six" are still ready to serve their idols.

Ordinary students. They communicate well with all groups.

"Nerds, cramps." So, excellent students are called in slang. If they are not arrogant, give to cheat, then they have a chance to rise up the hierarchy to the friends of the leaders. Otherwise, go down below.

Outcast. These children are persecuted among classmates for denunciations to teachers, harsh statements, gossip, appearance, worldview. The biggest mistake these children make is the “sacrifice complex”. Even if they are transferred to another school, there is a chance that the situation will repeat itself.

"The Invisibles". They seem to live in their own world. They do not communicate with anyone or are friends with their own kind. At a meeting of graduates, they are not remembered, they are not recognized on the street. It is not known what is worse to be an outcast, or unnoticed.

New student. While he is at the lowest level, because they are looking closely at him. His place in the hierarchy depends on his behavior.

Interest grouping among schoolchildren is unstable. Yesterday's friend of the leader may turn out to be an outcast. A rogue girl can enter the elite by becoming the girl of the class leader or the leader of the school.

Under the age of thirteen, they are not interested in alpha boys or guys at all. In rare cases, the intersection of groupings, alpha girls have authority over alpha guys, since the guys do not yet have a special power superiority, and the girls can hit between the legs.

Due to this heterogeneity of the female part of the class, the rogue girl who is being bullied by everyone does not arise often. In general, the hierarchical structure of girls is much less durable than that of boys, and over the years of study it can change quite a lot.

Alpha.
Basically, they are either girls who have a reputation as the first beauty and, among other things, a bitchy character, or excellent students with high self-esteem. In the first case, alpha is like a trendsetter in the classroom. The main feature of alphas is that they know how to greet teachers. The teacher may not listen to the alpha guy, but he will definitely listen to the opinion of the alpha girl. Alpha has an exclusive, undeniable and non-negotiable right to an alpha boy. Compared to the alpha boy, her position is far from being so strong in the pack, because the women's team is never and nowhere a cohesive structure in which everyone is “for each other”. The absence of the omega girl can make the alpha's leadership position generally purely symbolic, especially when there is more than one grouping of girls. If there is more than one alpha in the class, then permanent bickering will occur between them.

Beta- these are two or three girlfriends of a bitchy alpha girl. They serve the alpha for spreading gossip and providing small services, for example, escorting to the toilet (the alpha will never go to this filthy place alone), providing a "hut" (mirror, cigarettes, excuses to ancestors / teachers) if necessary. But like alpha and beta boyfriends, they are not real friends. And they don't differ much from gamma girls. The reason is in the feminine nature, according to which they can completely trust only guys, and they always have rivalry with other girls. Without a leader (for example, sick), beta become completely disoriented and can serve as an excellent target for sudden retaliatory attacks of omegas. This is where the beta girls are different from the beta guys who have the title “and. O. alphas "always cope with dignity. Note that alphas prefer to take more ordinary-looking persons as their friends. In the version adapted for baiting, an object belonging to the victim is used instead of a ball. Most often, a hat or backpack. In this case, they simply try to bypass the omega, refuse to sit down with him at the same desk or take him to the team during the game (often referring to the fact that he is always screwing up or has some oddities). Also, in the course of passive harassment, all kinds of names and jokes are used to address the victim. Most often, this method is used in elite lyceums and gymnasiums, where the rules are too strict to actively persecute. Again, ineffective against nonsense.
